Echo- Francesca Lia Block

This book truly changed my life. A young girl struggling to find herself goes through a series of painful and wonderful memories. I loved it. Definitely one of my favorites.

I was A Teenage Fairy- Francesca Lia Block

As Usual, a riveting Francesca Lia Block masterpiece. Barbie, a teenage waste with a ciggarette in her mouth and a fairy in her pocket, deals with the troubles of having a mom that has thrust her into modeling and a past of child abuse. When she meets a fellow victim, together they suffer with memories from the past. With her fairy as all she has to keep her strong, she puts the child abuser/ photographer behind bars. Touching, as usual. I could not put it down and read it straight through.

A Drowned Maidens Hair- Laura Amy Schlitz

Quite an interesting book. Maud, a young orphan, is a trouble maker beyond all repair. While living in an asylum she is unexpectedly adopted by a rich woman with a kind face and gentile manner. Little does she know she is about to embark on a journey of lies, family secrets and ghosts. A good read, though a little slow. For the young and young at heart.
